Have prepared FG for that event. Will spawn at grass6 with a PA-28.
Jitsi does work, but to talk i must switch from FG to the Browser, otherwise PTT will not work.
For the future it will be better to use Mumble or Discord.
Thats native apps and PTT will also work if the app is in background or minimized.

What a nice trip :) I managed to make a bad, a skipped and a good landing.
And I crossed the 200hr mark on my C182S's engine (smaller dev-flights not counted, only real legs)

Click the photos to enlarge :)

We sadly had some miscommunications and lost some people at Helgoland - but there was still a leg planned to St. Peter Ording....

Next Wednesday for the best entertainment and challenge the aircraft will be Piper J-3 Cub with Bush Wheels (JSBSim) for a low and slow meander and some beach landings. If you're not familiar with this tail dragger, it's a lot of fun. Do have a go before Wednesday (or don't, and give us all some entertainment!). A top tip: when you get wheels down keep pulling back on the stick while steering with the rudder and be gentle with the brakes :)

Details:
Aircraft: Piper J-3 Cub with Bush Wheels (JSBSim) 65 horsepower (very basic)
Place: LFKO to LFKJ, heading roughly North hitting some beaches and a bit of cross country.
Time: 19:30 UTC LFKO, find a spot or use the grass as this will be fine with your *bush wheels*
Time: 18:30 UTC LFKO, find a spot or use the grass as this will be fine with your *bush wheels*
Weather: Set for afternoon, summer, high pressure region.
Wheels up 20:00UTC
Wheels up 19:00UTC
Duration: Around 35mins plus the stops (and repairs) will make it just under an hour in total.
...and the FAA might frown at us

Jitsi to follow or, @Beni, did you say mumble is now able to run your plugin more widely?

I think the plugin is usable since quite some time now, but installation of mumble 1.4.0 is not that easy, because there are no releases yet.
Yesterday the plugin framework went into the master branch, so normal nightly builds can be used:
  • Visit https://dev.azure.com/Mumble-VoIP/Mumbl ... nitionId=6 and click to the top list entry.
  • Select the version for your operating system
  • A grey sidebar opens, there click "1 Artifact"
  • click the OS entry again and three dots appear on the right side of the selected row
  • there use the download entry.
Note the plugin (download separately from https://github.com/hbeni/fgcom-mumble/releases) is just available for linux and windows currently.

If anyone wants to test, I can assist and wil join myself - just let me know.

I don't know if I'll have mumble working on windows but will try. Jitsi link for the evening we can use https://meet.jit.si/FGtour2021
I hope you've all had a chance to practice - also, Beni spotted a way to change the colour of your Piper Cub aircraft, so although we're using the same model (please do use the same model (65bhp with bush wheels option)) for a level playing field) we can have different colours (I need to test this myself too) :) See you tomorrow evening :)

Copy that!
I think you can also put your Registration onto the plane via some entry in the aircraft menu!
