Re: Photoscenery?

Indeed, that is entirely correct: compositor and CompositeViewer are two unrelated/distinct features - however, CompositeViewer is now implemented in a way that it's using the Compositor behind the scenes, and it's likely that this is going to be ...

Re: FG 2020.3 View Changes

As part of the ongoing CompositeViewer effort, the view manager/system still is in the process of being updated - if in doubt, it would make sense to file a proper ticket, i.e. if you you have found a genuine bug. Keep in mind, for FlightGear ...

Re: Minimum and recommended computer spec?

... 3-5 years probably) - FlightGear is facing some very real architectural issues, and even with the changes currently in the pipeline (compositor, compositeviewer, WS 3.0 scenery/LOD and ortho scenery), you're unlikely to benefit from purchasing top-notch hardware currently - it's best to keep ...

Re: Space Shuttle - Development

Is still the CCTV not possible to implement in FG? Primarily this would require some changes that are currently in progress: http://wiki.flightgear.org/CompositeViewer_Support The next step will be implementing a dedicated Canvas element to render arbitrary scene views to a Canvas: http://wiki.flig...

Re: Space Shuttle - Development

Thanks :) Glad to see that we are always aiming towards more realism, and that it is not that hard to get involved into project like that. @amahalama : that is probably possible to do it through a canvas thing , but not very soon @Horray spoke about that http://wiki.flightgear.org/Hackathon_Proposal...

Re: Multiple Displays

... enough ouput ports on your graphics cards, you can connect any number of screens to a pc. But don't expect 60fps with 20 monitors. Note that with CompositeViewer support (which is currently work in progress), it can make a difference if you disable VSYNC - this is not overly documented, but frame ...

Re: McDonnell Douglas MD-11 Development

... the messey PUI dialog with this. That's looking good, I'd just like to add that due to the core work that is currently ongoing (Compositor + CompositeViewer), it's rather likely that we will end up with an architecture where custom scene views can be rendered to a texture - this is a long-standing ...

... the texture map coordinates for the instancing/animation of the symbols (VOR, FIX, NDB, WPT, TFC). Sorry, what is this ? See my comments about CompositeViewer support likely paving the way for Canvas avionics to optionally use their own dedicated windows, and scene graphs, which at some later ...

Re: CompositeViewer: Early Bird Feedback

right, like you said already - I have indeed multiple OSG versions installed locally and I am using different CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH setups for each build, but will check if it's picking up 3.4 somehow ... so please disregard this for now EDIT: I can also get the CV build to crash reliably by resetting (...

Re: CompositeViewer: Early Bird Feedback

There also seems to be a minor issue inside the main window after cloning, i.e. in that the menubar, OSG stats and any tooltips are shown with an offset in the lower part of the window rather than at the top and PUI dialogs are rendered incompletely - which is "fixed" by resizing the wind...

CompositeViewer: Early Bird Feedback

http://wiki.flightgear.org/CompositeViewer_Support http://wiki.flightgear.org/images/3/3a/CompositeViewer_3_cloned_views_and_OSG_stats_with_draw_masks.png I've been able to get the whole thing to crash fairly reliably (using latest next), even without loading any terrain/aircraft (and disabling all ...

Re: System Requirements for Flightgear

FlightGear still is in the process of adopting OpenSceneGraph. Two major developments were committed recently: Compositor support and CompositeViewer support. Furthermore, FlightGear is phasing out legacy OpenGL code. Also, the key people who were originally opposed to multi-threading and ...
