Re: Military simulation (from Su-15 Screenshots)

Beginning of that topic, December 2015: As for the missile work, you may not be aware of it, but there's a consensus among the core contributors that FG is supposed to be a civilian simulator, so weapons support by and large faces a hard time being committed. Official FlightGear Newsletter August 20...

Re: Getting missile data

... Github, and choose develop branch and download: https://github.com/Zaretto/fg-aircraft/tree/develop Elsewise you will have to post the old fox2.nas file here, so I can take a look.

In the file Nasal/fox2.nas find this line: # log missiles to unicsv for visualizing flightpath in Google Earth Uncomment the first 3 logging messages following that line. Then read this page: http://wiki.flightgear.org/Logging_properties ...

Re: Getting missile data

Btw. for the other fighter jets with missile code these are the file names: F-14: fox2.nas F-15: fox2.nas F-16: missile-code.nas M2000-5: missile-code.nas Mig21bis: guided-missiles.nas JA37: guided-missiles.nas They are all variants of the same code. And I think ...

Releasing of Submodels

... referring to bombs at the moment to keep it simple. Once that's done I can hopefully move on to missiles and guiding (I'm guessing this requires fox2.nas though, whole different story) and then implementing bombable. I believe this only requires the editing of various xml files, namely the "Submodels" ...

Re: Modelling a 3D 'RADAR Beam'

I believe, for the maths, you could take a look at the Aim9/fox2 implementation (by xiii, Nasal: fox2.nas). From a visualization standpoint, you could also use a Canvas HUD (in fact, even a transparent Canvas GUI dialog may suffice, depending on your requirements): Drawing ...

Re: Spoken GCA

... that's a fairly complex/sophisticated piece of code - much more straightforward is tanker.nas in $FG_ROOT/Nasal Another thing to look at is the fox2.nas which implements a simple scripted AI missile - from a FlightGear standpoint it really doesn't matter what kind of 3D model is loaded/updated. ...

... collected in Red Leader's wiki article here: http://wiki.flightgear.org/Scripted_AI_Objects This also documents other approaches (tanker.nas, fox2.nas, bombable etc) Sooner or later, you may also find it helpful to use a Canvas GUI dialog to show a map with ground networks and your vehicles ...

Re: Spoken ATC
