I agree! :) Another fantastic addition to FG's regional aircraft.

Great work!
I'm hoping for years this plane might come to FG. I like to make a livery of cirrus airlines for it.

Has any work been done on it in the last 2 and a bit months? It's dissapointing. I for one love the Dornier 328, so when development started I was excited, but am disappointed a release has not been made.

This is not a post asking for a release date! Simply stating my feelings.

There had been work, but in the background, not visible. FDM testing and tuning to available flight reports can't be made much visible.

And there is something else: all people related to this developement has a life beside FGFS -there wasn't all to much time for me for my projects. :(

I completely understand, but surely a few minutes to post an update can't be too hard?

Oh and read my second paragraph ;) Simply voicing my feelings.

Somehow, this mesh and the master textures look awfully familiar. ;)

Nice seeing it in FG though.

To make it clear: it's not a conversion of your model!

It would be possible, but it is dificult.

The basic 3d-model is completly built by me, UVMapping and textures (only previews here) as well using Blender 2.5/ 2.6, Blender 2.49 for texturing and Incscape.
I used the very few available 3d-drawings by Fairchild, and many, many images from airliners.net, flugzeugbilder.de.
EDIT:And two flight reports, one containing a very nice cutaway drawing of the DO328:
http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1995/1995%20-%203237.html

The flight reports was very helpfull for the fdm, I come quite close to it, but I'm not a fixed-wing fdm guru.
JSBSim might be more accurate when it comes to engine modeling.

During searching I found of course your developement work, but this wasn't really helpful as you might think.

I can understand your feelings. But I didn't thought it worth enough to write: "had ten minutes for testing climb rate at OAT of 0deg celcius, adjusted a bit the lift value of the wing"

It is. Because, whichever way you look at it, it's still progress :)

Oh well, I'll leave you some time for more development now.

Cheers,

P.S, if there's anything I can do to assist flick me a PM.

I see. Sorry for the implication..

Building a model from scratch might have been the most sensible solution anyways, as my model...

...is in 3DS Max format and makes use of a lot of things that have to be done in an entirely different way for FG.

Anyway, have fun working on the model. If you need information or so, gimme a shout.

I just ran into this thread when looking for a DO-228 :). Very nice! Is there any chance, the 328 might come with a livery-selectable radar- and optics-dome on the belly?
The Finnish Border Guard has 228's with that for coast guarding, but they are already talking about getting a 328 with the same config.
I would - of course - make a livery then :). The Icelandic coastguard also flies 328. I could make the livery for those also.

Since HHS doesn't seem to be active anymore, I guess it's been abandoned.
