Problem installing scenery from an external hard drive.

Hi guys,

Just want to say thanks to Tat for the second 2.6 RC, it works a treat!!

Before I leave you in peace, I just want to ask you a question regarding scenery installation. When I try to install scenery I have downloaded that is on my mac external hard drive, it won't let me install it via the FlightGear menu. But, if I copy it to my main hard drive and install it via the FlightGear menu, then it does. Any ideas why?

Cheers

Hi Lightman,

I guess you must have realised Tat is working his fingers to the bone at the moment, so this problem will be at the very bottom of his 'to do' list.

As you have found a way around your problem I think you could mark this question as solved, which would relieve Tat's workload a bit.

Just a suggestion.

Cheers,
Vic

Could you tell me the path of your scenery data in the external drive?

The path looks like:
/Volumes/HDD Name/some_folder/some_sub_folder/e130n50.tgz

I'll try to reproduce the problem.

Btw, it's good to hear you found a solution.

Hi Tat,

Thanks for getting back to me.

The scenery path is: /Volumes/Elements/Old HD/FlightGear/w010n50.tgz

This didn't work, so I made another scenery folder/Volumes/Elements/FlightGear Scenery/w010n50.tgz but this still didn't work.

If I copy it to my main hard drive it works no problem, but I don't like to keep it there for numerous reasons.

Elements is my external hard drive.

Cheers

I would try without spaces in names. Use _ underscore.

/Thanks
