In 2.4.0. the shadow does follow the terrain below but during turns or aerobatics the shadow remains the same flat silhoette!

We know that this shadow technique is a fake shadow, but the real OSG shadow doesn't exist in FlightGear (since FlightGear have leave Plib library) so we use this disgrace technique. But if you know how to improve this shadow technique your knowledge is welcome !
Or if you know an aircraft who have a better shadow tell me this because I'm interested :)

Wish I did Clément ! It's certainly an improvement over the shadow in the first video I posted at start of this topic!
There are more pressing issues for those clever flightgear developers to deal with though, so I'm content to fly it as it is! First plane I've flown that has a working shadow, so I'm not complaining!
Has anybody checked out FSX or X-Plane to see if their shadows have the same flaw?.........sim

Hi gooneybird,

When you'll want to share your beautiful liveries you can post a link here then I'll add it in the DC-3. We use 2048px x 2048px and PNG format for liveries :wink:

In order to disable the message " Screenshot written to [...]" you need to do this :
Open the file "$FG_DATA/Nasal/gui.nas"
And comment the line 1262 :
Code: Select all
         popupTip("Screenshot written to '" ~ path ~ "'", 3);
become
Code: Select all
         #popupTip("Screenshot written to '" ~ path ~ "'", 3);
the diabolical popup disappear :D

Cheers,
Clément

Not done a lot today, just created a new wheel, the old one didn't look much like a Dakota.

I'm sorry to say that I cannot speak French so that forum will be no help to me, but you are welcome to post my screen shots there.

I still have a lot more to do to the livery so it will not be finished by the 25th, maybe for the next release.

Can you tell me If anyone on the PAF forum is doing any liveries :?: I don't want to duplicate anyone else's work.

Thanks
Brett

No problem I understand ;)

Yes we have a member who make many liveries, currently we have 8 liveries. I purpose you to wait the 25th in order to see which liveries are already made.
I will post a message about your work on the PAF forum :)

Clément

Thanks for the offer but It's confusing enough here sometimes without trying to confuse the French forum and myself with Google translate :wink:

I think it would be helpful if someone from the non English forums could write a summary of what they are working on, maybe in the news section. This could save duplication of work and also help with exchange of information etc.

Welcome back Gooneybird. We'll fly this C47............soon as I can figure out 7-zip.......it won't let me extract the final aircraft folder! Stuck with the tar file!
