IVAO and FG

Postby Sau » Thu Jan 27, 2011 6:51 am

Hello, all.
For some reason i`had stopped at summer of 2010 my project of IVAO client.
I thinked, that IVAO finished they library, but...
There is http://www.flightgear.ru/forum/download/file.php?id=628
my alpha project of proxy beetwen IVAO and FG.
It`s changed source of squawkgear

1) Install Python
2) Copy startx.bat to Flightgear\bin\Win32 ( it`s run command for FG)
3) Copy menubar.xml to Flightgear\data\gui\
Copy sq_*.xml to Flightgear\data\gui\dialogs
Copy squawk.xml to Flightgear\data\protocol
4) Run proxy - python.exe squawkgear
5) Run FG via script startx.bat
(FG automatically connect to proxy, in FG appear new menu, there is you can change Login, Pass, Flight Plan. Changing of type aircraft in Flight Plan - you change you view for others pilots (seeng ICAO base of naming aircrafts)

Changing some strings in file mp.py - you change view of pilots aircrafts in your FG.

There is not done Chatting, Voice and some other functions. If you can done this is forgotten project - big thanks.
In theory it`is also working in Vatsim, if change IP of servers in setup.

For voice client may be used http://xp2ts.sourceforge.net/
It`s save your coordinate and tuned freq to local file.
Python script parsed whazzup file from server and local file for connecting to needed server

Hello !

I'm glad you have a pilot client for IVAO !!! :D I asked for this some time ago:
http://forum.ivao.aero/index.php/topic,150758.0.html

But without chat, you can't contact ATC. :(

And please be careful, there are rules and users can be banned for using software that is not approved:
http://network.ivao.aero/software
http://www.ivao.aero/network/so/

Could you contact the IVAO software or network team so they can add your client in the IVAO Approved Software ?

Thank you and happy flying ! 8)

When you say this is a modified version of the squawkgear source, do you mean that it, too, requires sb747 to connect to the IVAO network? Or, have you taken the squawkgear source and created a standalone client?

Thanks!

It`s standalone client. You can also use old squawkgear and SB747 for IVAO, your only need connect to IVAO servers by IP.

Ah! I see! Then, yes, MdMax is probably right that you should contact the folks at IVAO to get it approved for use on their network. Otherwise, folks using it might risk getting in trouble. :(

Sounds promising, though... BRAVO to you for your efforts!

Does this mean the project is dead, or are you still continuing development?
