I wonder why we don't just put a button or a slider for anti aliasing ? :?:
A good flight sim is not to make people feel fly easier but to make them feel fly is as real as it get.

We should... Setting it up through Properties with FGrun never works for me...

-Back to the original topic: so! Now that it's 2012 (and the topic of the thread specifically says 2011), how's judging going?
Look for "B-BIRD" "N127KY" or "AVA0004" -that's me.

Despite having over 1700 posts here, I am not even close to being the most skilled guy here... I'm just words and bad drawing, not experience. :P

Hmm, well at least I like Free flights for free men or is it freeman, assuming it also includes women which I hope to see more of in this community (though FlightGear seems to me like a typical "man cave" activity that tend to not attract women in general).

"Free men" is the correct way, I think (though that could be taken as sexist in some cultures...) -Freeman is a last name and what you call slaves that were freed in post-slavery America.
But that aside, I thought that was a very interesting and creative idea, too.

...Have there been any prominent female FG member in our simulator's history, ever!?
(Not only here, but also in all localized forums... I apologize to all lady pilots if I'm wrong..)

In mp awhile back, a woman with the callsign "blondie" flew quite a bit, mostly in a Storch. She used a number of alternate handles, including "Jadzia." She was memorable not for being a woman, but for being totally blind. She flew with a screenreader rattling off speed, direction, and AGL faster than I could understand it. The wonder wasn't whether she flew well, but that she flew at all! A classy and courageous lady who asked no favors from anyone.

D-Sanni is a female pilot to my knowledge and not too bad with the helos.
But beside actual female pilots - which probably wouldn't even care so much - what worries me are those political correctness activists which are just browsing the web to find anybody who might violate their standards and then - well - be activists. Flightgear - due to it's presence - is a likely target for those people.

Howdy all FG's I'm getting fun.
I would like to introduce some others different concepts for the FlightGear logo and banner Challenge.
I hope you like it.

Image Basic concept (it can complement our square and nice icon-logo) easy to use in differents colours.

Basic concept+ checker

Image Basic concept + aerial motive.

Image Example of the Basic concept + checker in a Banner.

The logo itself looks alright, but not really FlightGear-ish, in my opinion...
However, your website idea looks amazing! I think the color and some of the layout could be a bit different, but the basic idea looks great!

-Er... By the way, wouldn't it be better if we change the title of this thread to "Logo/Banner Challenge 2012 for FG2.8 and 3.0", since 2.6's about to be released and probably won't include any logo changes?
Look for "B-BIRD" "N127KY" or "AVA0004" -that's me.

I like the proposal, but... what about change the eagle for a less political-related bird?
I mean, seeing that bald eagle i inmediatly thought on some kind of U.S. "patriotic" military force and not in a worldwide, international flight community... and well, i'm chilean, not an U.S. citizen.

The website idea seems amazing for me, needed for some fixes on layout and visual spaces only. With a good navigation/visual communication concept and layout, could be a modern & fantastic website.

Hey folks, there is no web page project, is just a sketch to test the logo.

He He He, Flauta where I see a bird, you see the federals.
Don't care, Eagle is free so it doesn´t belongs to those crows.

In other side, Flauta can you please contact somebody in order to adress vivefg to the spanish link from FG official web page that is broken.?

Thanks all for your feedback.
