His work ends up where it belongs: in git and on the official aircraft download page ;-)

Heiko gave me permission to work further on the aircraft, unfortunately I went away for 10 days or so on a holiday and couldn't get anything done.

What to do:
Hone in the YAsim or scrap it and build a JSBsim FDM
Texture and add instruments to the cockpit
Add rear cockpit wall or full cabin
Create liveries

Cheers,
Sam.

Hy Sam

i thought i had written u couple of days away, but cause there is nothing in my "sent box" u hopefully havent got my noobisch message^^ well... it (the rollfactor of the Do328) has nothing to do with balance, this can just lower the issue but not turn it off!

The issue is the contra torgue which we have firstly to tell the yasim about, otherwise it doubles the torgue and the planes rolling to the left!

hopefully u guys know this, but if not here is the entry from the yasim wiki:
contra: When set (contra="1"), this indicates that the propeller is a contra-rotating pair. It will not contribute to the aircraft's net gyroscopic moment, nor will it produce asymmetric torque on the aircraft body. Asymmetric slipstream effects, when implemented, will also be zero when this is set.

regards, and good flight

It seems as if HHS is no longer active on the forums; is there any hope of a development release so that others can finish it? I for one would love to help with the animations (assuming they're not done).

Heiko (HHS) is still actively developing this bird. He just resigned from the forums, but not from FlightGear ;-)
You can see occasional updates at http://wiki.flightgear.org/Dornier_328 He plans to have a release for FlightGear 3.0 in February.

hy Gijs

ahh that sound very good
ok so i take that:

What to do:
Hone in the YAsim or scrap it and build a JSBsim FDM
Texture and add instruments to the cockpit
Add rear cockpit wall or full cabin
Create liveries

Cheers,

personly
and will look about some Liveries and give a note here when i found some instruments!

ps: the note::www.notavailableyet-missingcockpit.org Download:: at the wiki and the 4 stars at the FDM rating brought me to the threat again cause it sounds that there is more than the git i found... but ok im not the FDM speciallist anyways^^ so i will look about easyer things...

Best to contact Heiko before you start working on something. The wiki may be outdated, he may have someone else working on instruments, or maybe he's already working on them himself...

I can pm you his email address if you like.

Heiko is still reading the forums and he still works on the bird.
A few weeks ago I supplied him with the original Do328 specs which he started incorporating.
It simply takes (rare spare) time.

Just had a conversation with Heiko. He is still working on the bird but from what I got from him it will be a really great addition to the FlightGear fleet. Christmas might be a realistic time frame for a first version but please don´t nail that date yet.
