FlightGear won't start - OS X 10.8

I tried to run FlightGear 2.8 and when I click "Start Flight," nothing happens. I am running OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.

Console output:

Any ideas? FlightGear log says:

Looks like an issue affecting ATI graphics cards. A fix was pushed but was not in the 2.8.0 release:

You could try to make these changes locally and test/confirm if it works (no rebuild required, only affects files in FG's data package). Otherwise you may need to wait for an updated installer.

Can you do me a favour and try to start with extra option:

Or without this additional option starting c172p and have a look ?

Thanks for your help Fred, but unfortunately I really don’t know how above user got FG 2.8 running on his mountain lion anyway. Since the release download on main page was broken for me I downloaded the current jenkins build of 2.8 mac release and tested it on a clean OSX 10.8 install. It collapsed with a basic fgroot path problem completely, I’d wish to have only the renderbin draw issue or the new subversion lib integration problems. I checked on 10.6 and it crashes too, so unfortunately I fear 2.8 mac release needs to be delayed and current download can be trashed without any further command line findings at forums.

I have the same issue even with adding that code to the launcher... I should note that I am having this issue with the Intel HD 3000 (512MB RAM max) GPU...

There is a fix on the way, yes, even the fix is not for this shader issues like posted above. But I guess it will be a better touch and go with the updated version to see if the problem persists.

hats off to the Mac FlightGear team on releasing a 10.8-compatible version of 2.8!!!! well done, with good frame rates, even on my HD3000 equipped MacBook Pro. :D
