Thanks for this advice Lanny, but unfortunately it will not let me alter the path. It currently shows a correct path except it is going to 2.6.0 r319 instead of 2.8.1

You can only choose between the various FG_SCENERY paths via the in-sim dialog. I don't know how the Mac launcher works, but there must be a place where you can adjust the FG_SCENERY path(s)...

Don't place your TerraSync scenery inside data/ btw, you don't want to loose all your scenery when you update to a newer FlightGear version. Same holds for additional aircraft ;-)

Hi Gijs, thanks for joining in.
Don't place your TerraSync scenery inside data/ btw, you don't want to loose all your scenery when you update to a newer FlightGear version.

Mac's Scenery-TerraSync folder has always been kept in data. That has always been the default on each new version of the Mac downloads from Tat.

Unfortunately, it seems Tat has not been able to sort the Mac version this time (Version 2.8.) and I guess those who have issued 2.8.1 r276 haven't covered the same things Tat always does for us Mac users. I think they must be assuming we know how to do builds and paths etc, which Tat sorts out for us before he issues the new version. Normally, all we have to do is download the new version and we start straight from the box. Paths are written in and we don't have to juggle existing files/folders/directories and paths to get it to work.

I know we are spoiled by Tat, but we are really struggling without his input. By that please don't think I am criticising those who have been working towards a stable Mac version. I am sure I speak for all Mac users when I offer thanks to all involved.

Cheers,
Vic

There's no place in the Mac Launcher to specify TerraSync. It must be done at runtime.

Vic, if you can't change the path, move the folder to where I suggested and see if that becomes a choice. All I know is I moved it there and it just worked.

It's much better to keep scenery out of the FlightGear app altogether, for the reasons Gijs stated. Aircraft too, I'd think.

I put the Scenery-TerraSync folder where you said but it still showed the wrong path, and I couldn't alter it.

I then put the Scenery-TerraSync folder inside the FG folder which is inside that folder, but had the same result.

I think I might bung 2.8.1 r276 into the bin and wait to see if another version is made. From what I can see, there is not a great deal for Mac users in 2.8 because you have to switch off most of the bells and whistles to get a decent fps.

Cheers and thanks for your efforts.

Well of course I haven't given up yet.

I just noticed another odd thing:

Usually, if you have more than one FG version and you change airports or aircraft in the Launcher, those changes are recognised in all versions.

2.8.1 r276 is not included in this. If you change something in v2.6 it doesn't change the Launcher for 2.8 and vice versa.

Hi VisMar i do get the changes, when i swap them.

As the livery select is not working for me, i use FG2.6 to change liv's on some plane's.
Then when i load up FG 2.8.1 the liv's are what i want.

Im on a,
Mac OS X 10.6.8
FlightGear-2.8.1-r276
ATI Radeon HD 4870

As we seem to have same set up, i thought this might help.

The changes do continue from 2.6 to 2.8 and back for me.

For any Mac users,
I found on the FG wiki about a command line for Anti-aliasing

This works for me on Mac FG 2.8.1 using the command line.

--prop:/sim/rendering/multi-sample-buffers=1
--prop:/sim/rendering/multi-samples=4

I change the 4 to a 2 to have lower Anti-aliasing

The FG Anti-aliasing settings slider for mac 2.8.1 seems to be broken.

Hi Nielson,

Thanks for trying to help. Unfortunately, because the Launcher in 2.8 seems to be isolated, I can't change in 2.6 then use those changes in 2.8

Nice try though and much appreciated.

Greetings Xmeister!

I'm new here and I have the same problem in 2.8. I have some aircraft like the Tu-204, which can load and there is some really good stuff like the A-332 and 333 that won't load! Every time I press the "Start Flight" button, it just blinks like it was pressed but it does nothing. I really want to fly this stuff so anything possible would be great everyone else who knows what to do, if you could PM me, that would be great.

Mine won't start either. None of the stuff works. This was in 2.8 and I upgraded to 2.12 and still get the same stuff.
