If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it? Probably not, because if they don’t recognise their freedoms, they’ll let their freedoms fall

Everything in Rio has to be concupiscent.
Even landing there, while descending towards NARA seems to me like the act of diving into a bosom!

Yes,01A is in FG.
I think I'll check the runway's length and the DC-3's landing roll.

Great.
Check the DC-3 off course. But you should be good to go.
I think the DC3 is among those aircrafts that you can, still fully loaded, take off and land in a handkerchief thrown on a rooftoop :P

But it does need some mastering to use.
Maybe one or two hints coming from G-SHOZ may come handy

Ive flown it before, and its soooo coool
But nothing short of a noob for it, here.

Not quite. I've tried to land the DC3 in some spots only to find I can't stop.
But I think I'll make it.

One thing thou, the DC3 sure is slow loading.

PAA4692 finally arrived in Rio! This historic route was great fun but quite hard work -- almost 5,000 miles with only NDBs for navigation.

Crossing the mountains at Cachoeiras de Macacu

Diving into the bosom of Galeao airport

Arrived safely -- those buildings look pretty modern for 1940!

Congratulation Sanhozay!

@ IAHM-COL

Wished I'd been flying the cub when it came time to land.

If you look at the tracker during the landing, you will see where I ground-looped to the right at the end of the runway,(I was trying to stop before I overran the airfield) I went off the runway but not off the airfield.

Other than that, the DC-3 was great.

In the first five times I tried to land the venerable DC3, I only managed to stay on the runway once. The next five times proved that this was just a fluke and it took a lot of practice to even vaguely get the hang of it. Even so, I still bounce it quite often on landing.

My problem was if I went straight I would have overrun the runway,so I jammed the right brake on, to try and groundloop, but it got kind of out of hand.
